African-themed sophistication permeates the spacious and airy tents - custom-built with high floor-to-ceiling windows and polished wood floors. Three are doubles, three are convertible twin/doubles, with further family combinations consisting of en-suite tents with adjoining walkways. One of these family set-ups and one of the convertible tents have access to their own private pool.
The inviting main areas of the camp include a large open dining area, separate open lounge and bar, a large decking area for outside dining, relaxing and enjoying the view, and two of Africa’s most picturesque infinity pools. Day and night game viewing within the 56,000-acre private conservancy takes place in open-sided Land Rovers, with opportunities to join guided bush walks with Samburu guides. Ride among the wildlife on horseback, spot wild dogs, track lions and see at first hand the work of the conservancy’s anti-poaching unit.
January to March is hot and dry with the long rains usually falling from April to early June. Between June and October it is warm and dry during the day but cold at night. The migration usually arrives in the Mara from July with river crossings from Tanzania generally taking place between July and September. The herds rest in Kenya before crossing back to Tanzania in October/November. Kenya’s coast enjoys a tropical climate – April to June can be humid, tempered by monsoon winds. Nairobi is pleasant year round due to its altitude.
